Circulating Oil Lubrication Systems
The key to a good oil circulation lubrication system is precise regulation and exact monitoring of the oil supply to each lubrication point. Oil circulation involves a continuous flow of oil to the lubrication points. This oil is controlled both in quantity and temperature, collected by drain pipes and returned to a feed tank. The oil is therefore "recirculated" up to the point.
As the oil flows through the lubrication point, it not only acts as a lubricant, but also removes a large amount of heat from the bearing or lubrication area. The oil is transported and returned to the lubrication tank.
Oil circulation is widely used in the power industry and pulp and paper industry, providing increased operating speed and performance through rapid lubricant change, which removes heat and provides full oil immersion lubrication.
